Jaded. Fragmented. Fallen.
Always Rising.

Faceless,
i go through the motions of life-
he'll never notice the scars-
but you did.
you wrapped me in all your
knowledge,
took care of my wounds.
Led me out into the
air,
the spring's kiss
bringing light.
Too loud,
it shatters my ears-
crawling back into shelter,
its started to rain.
wet,
cold, dark and alone
my tears sing me
to sleep
as the burn lays
vivid
upon my heart-

don't touch me.

Image of a Perpetual Smile
Uncontent
her mind paces
never returning to that
exact spot.
She's blocked from
true harmony-
conceived
is the picture of happiness
grown from her tears of
a concept.
Deceived again,
she cannot sleep-
her bitterness is finally
released.
but she has no one to whisper
her name.
Untamed
her heart dreams
and within her wild hallucinations
she perceives the words written
of an image
with wind rustling her hair
and love wrapping the excitement
of a perpetual smile.
you are who
created it.
Awoken
from her sleepless dream,
she finds the image
shattered-
mirrored to a concept.

Broken,
i change little things
to appease you.
but forgotten and unnoticed
is how i now
appear
the magic of your smile
lays frozen upon my
eyes-
you block all the triumph of
obstacles.
Impossible to reach you.
fits of tears
overcome me
my heart bleeds,
the little changes
i committed
out of love for you
now only serve as
painful reminders
of a soul once rejoiced
in you.

Puzzled,
i realize that
that gurl in the mirror
is really me.
Me,
that laughter
is actually real.
Smiling,
i'm presented by
melting confusion-
i'm bound by this
glass female,
an appearance of
confidence,
strength, and even fun-
she has that special
star
in her eye,
or is that just the
reflection
of light?
Regardless,
this nonexistent soul
reaches her arm out to me
and i'm excited to see
her mischievous plan
fly.

Mistaken laughter
holds her soul
trapped
and it is not her
that is begging to be released
but instead,
the heart that has refused her.
Ignorant
she lays broken
unaware of anything
but happiness surrounding her
and it is this that causes
her tears to rain-
to flood
the thoughts of those who watch her
unhaunted.

Fear, it beckons her heart
life shouldn't be like this.
she shouldn't be able to live,
to smile
unaware,
but knowingly of all this,
her logic
does not line up with all the
miseries
her life has had to endure
but yet at ten years-old
she begins to stand-
begins to laugh
begins to mock those who think
they can really hurt her.
