Jaded. Fragmented. Fallen.
Always Rising.

01:53 p.m.

Broken
she picks at the pieces
that used to symbolize
her heart
but now things are different
she never would have guessed
that the past would end this way
she always pictured
always hoped
that her heart had been right
about the whole
mystery.
but yet again wrong
and yet again broken
she lays bleeding
begging
for a hand up...
steady me
she pleas into the night
but a deaf ear is turned
and the darkness
becomes her light.

needed,
she turns her back
on what she
should be
only to become
what she
never dreamed.
The lost hope,
soon fading from
her eyes
and growing
into her spirit,
and it becomes
the very breath
that keeps her alive.
Alive
but dead
for her only
yearning
is for what her
heart
already has.

life,
the living of the flower
which fades
as the sun
increases.
the passion of the heart
no longer continues on
for the petals
have fallen
and lay crushed
by the hand
that carried them.
the hand
that protected them-
never alive
always dead.
leaving deceived,
the tears crawl across
the floor,
carefully cut-
carefully undead
but left
bleeding forevermore.

07:47 p.m.

i reach out,
almost afraid to
touch you
but more afraid to
lose you-
too late.
i should have
embraced
that sun,
shouldn't have
given into the pain,
shouldn't have
doubted the awe.
for now
as i touch you,
i can see the realness,
the faith in your eyes
but painfully,
it's not for me.
rejected,
i step back
afraid
but you reach out-
you touch me
afraid at first-
timid of the love your heart
knows
but your mind
rejects.
the sun shouldn't
light up
like this.
your heart shouldn't
push like that,
but the fight fades
and the tension melts
as passion reigns.
breathing,
i never want this to stop
but reality
rudely awakes two hearts
falling aimlessly
in love
and brings back the stone
that turns
and shatters
at least one
of those hearts.

Written For Jon
beautiful stranger-
that one
chance meeting,
that one
star that shone true.
a spiral of smiles,
as the heart is made to
walk again
without notice.
you did that to me.
changed me,
let me live-
grow within your smile.
gone,
i find myself now,
fallen.
lost,
there are no stars
for us anymore-
just anger leashed,
i won't let go
because my heart won't
give up
on a chance to fly again.

07:40 p.m.

the loss of innocence
her heart is left
to bleed
by him who is still
hungry
and searching
for that one true love
he thought he found in her.
Silly for him
to believe-
now she's left there
clawing
at the pain,
praying for the blood
to stain him
but he's too far away.
And he's too strong
to hear her cries,
to hear her curses
as she slowly drowns
in the pool
of her naive, trusting
innocence.
